Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light Designing with precision

At Homo Faber 2026, each dunhill Aquarium lighter presented was created using the reverse intaglio technique, in which the design is carved by hand into the back of optical-grade acrylic, then painted in reverse, layer by layer. The finished image appears suspended within the transparent body. The process requires exceptional control, as every incision, colour and detail must be considered from the opposite side before the piece is assembled.
