An unconventional spirit

Delvaux is the inventor of the modern handbag, having filed the first-ever leather handbag patent in the world in 1908. Steeped in the spirit of Belgian surrealism, it infuses each design with an unconventional and original touch.

Among its extremely rich archive of over 3,000 designs, Delvaux’s emblematic creations include The Brillant (1958), The Tempête (1967), The Pin (1972) and The Lingot (2022).

  • Summer’s First Blush⁣
⁣
In the heart of Brussels lies the magnificent Bois de la Cambre. The city’s green lung comprises forestland to get lost in, lakes, streams, meadows and more to rival the great city parks of the world. At the first sign of sun, however, the Bruxellois flock to the Kiosque at its centre. A meeting place for old and young its famous red tables are a comforting sign of summer. Much like the Brillant in bloom planted atop it.⁣

We continue with our journey at one of Brussels’ hidden gems - the @museumvanbuuren. Meticulously preserved the Van Buuren House was built in 1928, a prime example of Brussels Art Deco, with its red brick exterior and graphic wood interior. Created as a living conservatory, rare furniture, rugs, inventive stained glass windows, and masterpieces of sculpture and art fill the house and are echoed by a multitude of whimsical gardens. The delightful heart garden is pictured here. A labyrinth, secret garden and large rose garden dot the premises, promising a magical day of beauty!⁣

  • Delvaux ♥️ Belgium⁣
⁣
Founded a year apart, Delvaux (1829) and Belgium (1830) are in many ways inseparable. Delvaux is intrinsically and proudly Belgian, and that ‘fierté’ for Delvaux is shared by its compatriots just as passionately. So join us on a trip through some of the most emblematically Belgian spots this summer. Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges and the magnificent Belgian coastline. Bon voyage!⁣

Begin the journey with a local Bruxelloise delicacy - the croquette aux crevettes - and a delicious drink at the legendary bistro, @chez.richard. Founded in 1890, it is an institution for young and old alike, open 7 days a week and never not lively. The sorbetto Pin Toy is your perfect companion here.⁣
