The art of watchmaking

For several generations, the watchmakers of A. Lange & Söhne have pursued one goal: to craft timepieces that represent the pinnacle of international watchmaking artistry. At its Glashütte manufacture, the Maison crafts only a few thousand wristwatches per year, each endowed exclusively with proprietary movements that are lavishly decorated and twice assembled by hand. With 73 manufacture calibres developed since 1990, Lange has secured a top-tier position among the world’s finest watch Maisons.

Unforgettable masterpieces

Icons include Lange 1, the first regularly produced wristwatch with an outsize date, and the Zeitwerk, with its precisely jumping numerals. Extraordinary complications such as Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, Triple Split and Grand Complication reinforce the Maison’s credo to “never stand still”.

Introduced in 2013, the Grand Complication represents the drive of traditional watchmaking to ever-new heights. The sporty yet elegant Odysseus, introduced in 2019, marked the start of a new chapter.

  • The Key Players of the Minute Repeater. An ingenious system of precisely choreographed racks, snails, levers, and wheels controls the 194-part minute repeater mechanism. The sapphire-crystal caseback reveals the orchestrated choreography of the key players. A clear and reverberant sound is assured when the black-polished hammers strike the differently tuned gongs. The ODYSSEUS was specially developed to meet the extremely high expectations that its wearers have of a precision mechanical watch ‒ even during their sports and leisure activities. To this end, it is equipped with a dedicated self-winding movement and a case that withstands a test pressure of 12 bar. With its prominent design and large displays for the date and the day of week, it sets benchmarks in the category of sporty-elegant timepieces. Limited to 100 pieces, the fourth colour and material version of the ODYSSEUS pairs a honey-gold case with a brown dial. The elegant hue matches the warm lustre of the manufacture’s exclusive alloy. This model version is also the first A.
