  • The Avant-Garde "Sole" of 1917: A Design Revolution

In 1917, Vacheron Constantin introduced a timepiece that broke the mold: the "Sole" model. With its multiple curves and avant-garde design, it represented a radical departure from the traditional round watches prevalent in its era. The black enamel Arabic numerals, crafted to follow the unique shape of the case, beautifully prefigured the iconic codes of Art Deco.

To wear such a watch at the time was to embrace the pinnacle of modernity. Its distinctive nickname, "Sole," perfectly encapsulates the originality and unique character of this creation. Nicknames, whether serving as mnemonic identifiers within a technical nomenclature or as evocative Italian adjectives from early thematic sales catalogues, have always been woven into the fabric of watchmaking. They often associate a timepiece's distinctive form with an animal, a character, a monument, or an object, becoming indelibly entwined with the destiny of these exceptional timepieces.

  • Precision & Poise

The Fiftysix complete calendar marries sophisticated complications with Vacheron Constantin's timeless aesthetic. This distinguished timepiece is powered by the Hallmark of Geneva certified Calibre 2460 QCL/1, a self-winding movement developed and manufactured in-house, renowned for its precision and reliability.

It masterfully orchestrates the display of the date, day, month, and a precision moon phase. The petrol blue dial is a canvas of exquisite detail, featuring a unique opaline centre, sunburst exterior, and snailed finishing, further distinguished by Arabic numerals that enhance its legibility.

  • Heritage Reimagined for Daily Elegance

Born from a desire to create an elegant watch designed for daily wear, the Fiftysix collection seamlessly blends historical inspiration with contemporary flair, offering a vibrant homage to its 1956 predecessor and redefining retro-contemporary elegance.

Both the self-winding and complete calendar models are presented with a petrol blue dial, a sophisticated hue that elevates the collection's relaxed elegance and lends a noble touch to any ensemble. Each 40mm stainless steel timepiece subtly integrates the emblematic Maltese cross – from the integrated crown to the lug design – a testament to Vacheron Constantin's enduring heritage and meticulous attention to detail.
