  • An Homage to Watchmaking's Golden Age

The Traditionnelle perpetual calendar chronograph, unites a distinguished platinum case with a salmon-coloured dial - a classically inspired combination with a nod to watchmaking's golden age.

At its heart beats the in-house manual-winding Calibre 1142 QP, a movement prized by collectors and dating back to the 1940s. This 324-component calibre is celebrated for its sophisticated architecture, reliability, and precision, notably enhanced by its column-wheel system for the chronograph function, and complemented by a perpetual calendar complication. Adapted over decades to meet Hallmark of Geneva criteria, it operates at a rate of 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and offers a 48-hour power reserve.

The finishing of the movement, including its circular-grained mainplate, Côtes de Genève motif on the bridges, hand-bevelled components, and straight-grained flanks, is beautifully revealed through the transparent sapphire caseback. This timepiece is a profound celebration of technical mastery and aesthetic refinement, a wearable legacy for the collector.

  • The "Butterfly" of 1952: An Artistic Flight of Design

In 1952, Vacheron Constantin introduced Reference 4775 in pink gold, affectionately known as the "Butterfly" model. This nickname comes to life when the watch is viewed at a 90-degree angle (slide 2), revealing a case shape that gracefully mirrors the delicate outline of a flying butterfly.

Beyond its evocative form, this manual-winding timepiece boasts stylised yellow gold indexes on its dial – a hallmark of traditional luxury finishing. These indexes not only ensure legibility but also lend an elegant perspective to the wearer. Powering this exquisite creation is the calibre 11''' 435, a manual winding movement crafted with a rectangular shape and cut corners, designed to fit flawlessly within its unique case. The "Butterfly" stands as a testament to Vacheron Constantin's artistry, where technical ingenuity and artistic design converge to create enduring beauty.
