Dr Jean-Jacques van Oosten
Chief Technology Officer
Dr Jean-Jacques van Oosten joined the Group and the Senior Executive Committee on 1st January 2018 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), after a twenty-one-year career focused primarily on the retail and digital sectors.
Prior to his latest role as Group Chief Digital Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Rewe Digital, Dr van Oosten held several Chief Information Officer positions at Travis Perkins Group, Tesco, Kingfisher, EDS and Unilever. Through his consulting company, Dr van Oosten advised retailers on their multichannel strategy and transformation programmes.
Dr van Oosten graduated from the London Business School and holds a PhD in molecular genetics. Dr van Oosten resigned at CTO and stepped down from the Senior Executive Committee with effect on 2 May 2018.
