For several generations, the watchmakers of A. Lange & Söhne have pursued one goal: to craft timepieces that represent the pinnacle of international watchmaking artistry. At its Glashütte manufacture, the Maison crafts only a few thousand wristwatches per year, each endowed exclusively with proprietary movements that are lavishly decorated and twice assembled by hand. With 69 manufacture calibres developed since 1990, Lange has secured a top-tier position among the world’s finest watch Maisons.

Unforgettable masterpieces

Icons include Lange 1, the first regularly produced wristwatch with an outsize date, and the Zeitwerk, with its precisely jumping numerals. Extraordinary complications such as Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, Triple Split and Grand Complication reinforce the Maison’s credo to “never stand still”.

Introduced in 2013, the Grand Complication represents the drive of traditional watchmaking to ever-new heights. The sporty yet elegant Odysseus, introduced in 2019, marked the start of a new chapter.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the DATOGRAPH, A. Lange & Söhne introduces two new masterpieces at Watches and Wonders 2024.

The DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD “Lumen” is a lustrous new interpretation of the sophisticated timepiece, exhibiting distinctive aesthetics even in the dark. In parallel, the DATOGRAPH UP/DOWN shines in white gold with a blue dial.

  • With our latest debut, the DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD “Lumen”, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the DATOGRAPH. The new timepiece combines three classic complications. They are equipped with further, elaborate additional functions that are rarely or even only realised by our manufacture.   One of these complications is the chronograph, which is additionally equipped with a flyback function and an exact jumping minute counter.   • A benchmark in the art of short-time measurement.  When our DATOGRAPH was first presented in 1999, it attracted global attention with its sophisticated technology and balanced design. In 2012, our engineers proved that excellence could be taken a step further with the successor to the DATOGRAPH: the DATOGRAPH UP/DOWN. The case diameter increased to 41 millimetres, rhodiumed gold baton hour markers replaced the former Roman numerals II, VI, and X, and, for the first time, a power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock was added. Following up on this timepiece, we introduced our DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL TOURBILLON with a power-reserve indicator integrated at the end of the tachymeter scale in 2016. Two years later, we added a new aesthetic dimension to the DATOGRAPH UP/DOWN with our luminous compound that reveals its radiant personality in the dark – our DATOGRAPH UP/DOWN “Lumen”.   The DATOGRAPH celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and we are looking back on a masterpiece that ushered in a new era in precision watchmaking.
