Design and innovation

The Group’s Maisons regularly receive product and other awards for design and innovation. The ‘External Recognition’ page of this web-based CSR report is updated for such awards on an ad hoc basis.

During the year, many of our Maisons received awards in recognition of product excellence, customer service and environmental performance. Some of our highlights include:

A.Lange & Söhne - Golden Balance 2011 (February 2011)

The Maison won two prizes in a leading readers’ poll of the watch world. In the top category, ‘watches priced over 25 000 Euro’, the winner was the SAXONIA ANNUAL CALENDAR. In the category ‘watches priced up to 25 000 Euro’, the 1815 MOONPHASE from the ‘165 Years – Homage to F. A. Lange’ collection was awarded the second prize.
These two examples of ‘jury of readers’ awards complement the Maison’s recent record of ‘jury of experts’ awards. For example, the LANGE ZEITWERK won first prize for product design in Germany’s ‘red dot design award’ in 2010; and first prize in the ‘Ultimate Value Award’ category of the USA’s Revolution magazine in 2010. In 2011, the LANGE 1 was awarded first prize by Chronos Japan in its ‘Watch with calendar’ category.

Greubel Forsey, Van Cleef & Arpels, Vacheron Constantin : 10e Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (November 2010)

Grand Prix de ‘L’Aiguille d’Or’ for Greubel Forsey’s Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique.
Prix de la montre dame for Van Cleef & Arpels’ Le Pont des Amoureux.
Prix du public for Vacheron Constantin’s Historique Ultra-fine 1955.

Jaeger-LeCoultre -  le Prix du Public de la Montre de l’Année 2010 (October 2010)

Jaeger-LeCoultre was awarded the ‘watch of the year’ public prize for its Le Duomètre à quantième lunaire. The Maison’s 2010 award repeats previous successes, with the public prize being awarded as well in 2004 and in 2007. The public prize reflects the worldwide votes of readers of montres-de-luxe.com

Human Resources

Stern Créations - le Prix ‘Santé au travail’

In February 2011, Stern Créations, the Geneva-based specialist watch dial maker, was awarded the Health at Work prize (Prix ‘Santé au travail’) of the Swiss section of the European association for health promotion (l’Association européenne pour la promotion de la santé) thanks to its innovative programme. The programme targets the specific work-related health needs of women during pregnancy and in the period following the birth of the child.

Environment

Richemont

At Villars-sur-Glâne, the Group’s Swiss logistics centre, employee initiatives since 2004 have continued to improve environmental performance. Specific initiatives have included the integration of sustainable heating supplies, more efficient lighting and waste separation. These initiatives have generated regular local newspaper coverage.
