"There’s something one should expect not only of a watch but also of oneself: to never stand still" Walter Lange

  • The first minute repeater with a honey gold (HONEYGOLD®) case: the ZEITWERK MINUTE REPEATER HONEYGOLD.

Crafted from our exclusive honey gold, this timepiece offers a singular, clear sound with a rich and warm timbre for the hours, ten-minute intervals, and minutes at the push of a button. To attain its particular tone quality, all parameters are perfectly matched to one another: the gongs, for example, are meticulously hand-tuned to harmonise with the sound characteristics of our exclusive case alloy. With its instantaneously jumping numerals, you can both hear what you see and see what you hear.

  • The ZEITWERK MINUTE REPEATER HONEYGOLD is equipped with a fly governor that absorbs excess energy after each switching sequence.

This innovative feature is incorporated to cushion the comparatively large forces generated during acceleration and braking of the numerals discs, which exceed typical magnitudes encountered in watch movements.

  • The ZEITWERK MINUTE REPEATER HONEYGOLD features a patented constant-force escapement that serves a dual purpose.
Firstly, it acts as a pacemaker for the advancement of the numerals discs, using an accumulation of power from the mainspring barrel to switch them in one-minute intervals. Secondly, it makes an important contribution to rate stability by assuring that the balance – regardless of the timepiece’s state of wind – is powered with a consistent amount of force across the entire power reserve duration.

A. Lange & Söhne creates outstanding mechanical timepieces that feature challenging complications and follow a clear and classical design line. Innovative engineering skills and traditional craftsmanship at the highest level guarantee a state-of-the-art calibre design with meticulously hand-finished movements and utmost mechanical precision.

Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange laid the cornerstone of Saxony’s precision watchmaking industry when he established his manufactory in 1845. His vision: setting new standards by crafting unique mechanical timepieces with the highest quality in aesthetics, precision and intricacies. His precious pocket watches remain highly valued among collectors all over the world. After the Second World War, the company was expropriated and the name A. Lange & Söhne nearly vanished. But in 1990, Walter Lange, Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s great-grandson, ventured to start over again – following his credo to “never stand still”.

Today, Lange crafts only a few thousand wristwatches per year – predominantly in gold or platinum. They are endowed exclusively with proprietary movements that are lavishly decorated and twice assembled by hand. With 69 manufacture calibres developed since 1990, A. Lange & Söhne has secured a top-tier position among the world’s finest watch brands. Its greatest successes include brand icons such as the Lange 1, the first regularly produced wristwatch with an outsize date, and the Zeitwerk, with its precisely jumping numerals. Extraordinary complications such as the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, the Triple Split and the most complicated model so far, the Grand Complication. Introduced in 2013 in a limited edition of six, this piece represents what the manufactory always strives for: to drive the traditional art of watchmaking to ever-new heights. The sporty yet elegant Odysseus, introduced in 2019, marked the start of a new chapter for A. Lange & Söhne.
