Working in partnership
Given the complexity of many of the issues we are trying to address as part of our commitment to being a responsible business, we need to work with others to bring about improvements.
We work with a number of partner organisations which help us improve our social, economic and environmental performance. In addition to our work with the Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices (CRJP), which you can read more about in our Supply chain section, we are also involved in the following organisations:
- Jewellers of America (‘JA’) is the trade association for retail jewellers in the USA. Through its Ethical Initiatives Committee, JA is a leader in promoting debate on corporate social responsibility within the industry. Cartier is a Board member of JA and a member of its Ethical Initiatives Committee.
- The French Union of Jewellery, Silverware, Stones and Pearls, which is closely involved in various ethical issues and which promotes the highly skilled savoir-faire of jewellery manufacturing in France. Van Cleef & Arpels serves as a Board member.
- The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry is a private, professional, and non-profit association, which brings together more than 500 members and represents more than 90% of all Swiss watch manufacturers.
